Fees, Clinic Hours and Treatment Contracts

Fees

The Bridge is a privately operated service of independent practitioners charging fees for their work. We are not affiliated with the NHS, nor any medical insurance group.

Fees are negotiated with each therapist. Individual therapists, at their own discretion, may operate a sliding scale of fees relating to time of day (evening appointments can be more expensive) or the income level of the client.

Fees are payable directly to the psychotherapist by cheque, electronic transfer/online or cash. We are unable to accept credit cards or debit cards.

Initial, informal assessment appointments are sometimes at half-fee, depending on the therapist. Short meetings to discuss therapy are usually free. A formal assessment appointment will be charged at the standard fee. Please check before you come.

Several Bridge therapists are registered providers with a range of medical insurance companies (eg BUPA, AXA-PPP etc). Although we have found that some medical insurers are reluctant to fund psychological treatments, providing rather narrow strictures around registration requirements, length of treatment, etc., others are much more flexible. It really depends on the insurance provider. Please make thorough enquiries of both your insurance provider and your therapist, before proceeding. Top of the page

Clinic Hours

The Bridge is generally open from 10am to 6pm.

Appointments are available outside of these hours. Please enquire.

Unfortunately we do not provide sessions at weekends.

Sessions are usually of 50 minutes duration. Couple sessions may be longer.

Therapists are usually away on holiday over Christmas, Easter and for a Summer break. You will be informed in advance of these breaks.

Treatment ContractsTop of the page

Your therapist will agree a contract with you for a set number of sessions or for a more open-ended arrangement. The contract will make clear what is expected of you and what you can expect of your therapist.

48 hours notice is usually required for cancelling a session otherwise a fee will be charged.

Two sessions notice is required for early ending of the treatment contract to allow time to process thoughts and feelings about ending. Top of the page
